Tithes and Offerings
My brothers and sisters if it were not needed this page would not even appear on our website; however, it is necessary for Our LORD’S Church to have a place for others to donate to help the Ministry continue to Preach and Teach the Kingdom of GOD concerning those things of JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOR.
For we must work while it is day for when night comes no man can work. The harvest is ready, but the laborers are few Yes, a person who gives of their finances and time is a laborer – but the Bible tells us in Luke 10:2, “The harvest truly is great but the laborers are few.
My brothers and sisters, the Apostle Paul reminds us in Acts 20: 35, “I have showed you all things how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the WORDS of our LORD JESUS how HE said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Tithes and offerings are a needed resource for the Ministry to continue the mission of CHRIST JESUS. People often do not think about the Church – the Ministry needing financial support but, like any other household the House of Our LORD needs our support as well.
GOD loves a cheerful giver because HE knows your heart is to help others – to help HIS cause – to live in our purpose and introduce as many people to JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR as possible.
What does the Bible say about Tithes and Offerings? Well, let us first define what a Tithe is and what an Offering is. The word “tithe” means “tenth”. To tithe means that GOD is looking for us to give 10% of our first fruits. 10% of our paycheck or that money that we got from out of nowhere. GOD just does not want you to “tithe” but HE wants you to do it cheerfully because you are honoring GOD – you are saying to GOD – Thank YOU LORD for giving me substance now let me give back to you. Tithing is truly a form of Praising GOD.
What is an Offering? An offering is a gift to GOD given outside or in addition to Tithing. It is based on what you feel in your heart to give to GOD.
Now what does the Bible say about Tithing and Offering? “Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity: for GOD loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). The Bible also tell us contrary to popular belief that we are to give unto GOD and not so that we can boast to man of what we have given. “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your FATHER which is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1) The Bible has many verses concerning tithing and offerings because it is an important part of Worship to GOD, the FATHER and JESUS our SAVIOR.
