Let It Begin With Me

Many associate the New Year with New Beginnings. Some begin the New Year with New Hope for a brighter tomorrow, or a better year than the one before. Others are just thankful to make it into a New Year. While others begin to make New Year’s Resolutions that they may or may not keep. The New Year offers much to be desired for many, but for the children of GOD….
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in CHRIST, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (18) And all things are of GOD, who hath reconciled us to HIMSELF by JESUS CHRIST, and hath given us the ministry of reconciliation.” What exactly do these two verses mean, and how do they relate to the New Year?
Verse 17, If we are truly in CHRIST JESUS, we are no longer the people who we used to be, but we are becoming something new, and the old us is passing away – moving out of our temples (our mind, our body, and our soul), for we are becoming a product of JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF. And now we are of GOD because this is what JESUS did with HIS finished work on the cross. JESUS reconciled us to our CREATOR, to our FATHER GOD – whereby we can now say with a smile on our faces and a true love in our heart – ABBA – FATHER.
This is what the New Year should be for all of GOD’s children. We should seek in this New Year opportunities to grow closer to our FATHER GOD. To tell as many people as possible about our FATHER in Heaven, and HIS SON JESUS our CHRIST, not just in words, but in deeds, in our actions, and in our love toward others. For they will know us by our love.
So let us, who love THE LORD, seek out new opportunities in this New Year to become more and more like CHRIST JESUS and less and less like this world. LORD, please, in JESUS’ NAME, let it begin with me.
Amen.
With love in CHRIST JESUS
